Samsung Galaxy A72 to get Penta-camera setup: Report

Samsung looks to be working on a new smartphone with a five-camera setup, according to a new report. The phone will arrive in the first half of 2021. The Penta-camera setup has been tipped to arrive on a mid-range Samsung Galaxy phone and not a flagship phone. The smartphone has been tipped to be the Galaxy A72. The Galaxy A72 will be the successor to the Galaxy A71 which was launched earlier this year.
According to a report by South Korean publication The Elec – the Galaxy A72 will feature a Penta-camera setup – attributing industry sources. The report stated the setup will feature a 64-megapixel megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy A72 will also get a 32-megapixel selfie camera, according to the report. Additionally, the report has also indicated that the Galaxy A52 will arrive alongside the Galaxy A72. This smartphone will sport quad rear cameras, like the Galaxy A51.
The Nokia 9 PureView was the first smartphone to feature a Penta-lens setup at the back panel. According to previous reports, the Galaxy A72 will feature optical image stabilization (OIS).
Samsung is planning to bring its OIS technology to the high-end Galaxy A-series models by 2021. The OIS system will feature specialised hardware and software tweaks which will help in capturing sharper images.
