SAVE 81%: Typically $49.99, the third-gen Amazon Echo Dot is on sale for just $18.99 this Prime Day. It also comes with six free months of Amazon Music Unlimited (a $65.97 value), bringing you $78.94 in total savings.
After Amazon announced several new Echo devices at its fall hardware event in late September, we had a sneaking suspicion the previous-gen models would get some big discounts for Prime Day — and boy, did the retailer deliver.
In addition to savings on the Echo Studio, Echo Auto, and several Echo Show models, we’re seeing the lowest price *ever* on the third-gen Echo Dot on the second day of Amazon’s annual shopping event: Normally $49.99, it’s currently on sale for just $18.99 through midnight tonight — a massive discount of 62%. (That’s even cheaper than it was last Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend when it went on sale for $22.)
But the savings don’t stop there. To sweeten the deal even further, Amazon is also throwing in six free months of Amazon Music Unlimited (a $65.97 value) on top of that $31 markdown. Altogether, you’ll be saving $78.94, or 81%. Not too shabby at all.
The only catch is that the Echo Dot is backordered until Nov. 3 or Dec. 2 (depending on the color you choose), with expected delivery dates as late as Dec. 6 even if you place your order ASAP and choose the fastest shipping option. But with a deal this good, we’re struggling to muster up a complaint (and besides, you’ll lock in that pricing if you buy it now).
As a refresher, the big draw of Amazon’s bestselling smart speaker is that it allows you to stream music, control smart home devices, and even make calls using just your voice. This 2018 model comes equipped with tens of thousands of Alexa skills and surprisingly decent sound quality for its size — just don’t expect much from it in the bass department, according to Mashable tech editor Pete Pachal.
